SOLIHULL BRANCH

Who are we ?

The Solihull Group is one of over 330 local groups which meet regularly to promote the aims of Amnesty International through raising awareness, talks, petitioning, lobbying, letter writing and fund raising.

We maintain strong links with our parent organisation Amnesty International UK.

  • We have been involved in centrally co-ordinated campaigns on behalf of human rights in South Korea, China, U.S.A., Saudi Arabia, Laos.
  • Our efforts have helped to secure the release of political prisoners in Chile, Kosovo, Morocco and Nigeria.

Where and when do we meet ?

We meet in the in the vestry at Christchurch, Union Road, Solihull between 8pm and 10pm on the 3rd Monday of each month. You don't have to be a member of Amnesty International to join us - if you would like to meet our members and find out more about what we do, just come along.

If you need a lift one of our members can probably help.

Amnesty is...

A world-wide movement of human rights activists and finaciancial supporters.

We work together to prevent violations of people's fundamental human rights by government, businesses and individuals.

We believe that mass public pressure expressed through effective forms of action is critical to stopping human rights violations.
